FG to strengthen Bilateral Relations with Indonesian Government on Military Cooperation

The Honourable Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubarka CON, mni has said that the Government of Nigeria will continue to reinforce the bilateral relations with the Indonesian Government on military cooperation. 

The Minister said this when the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria AVM Dr. UH Harahap and his delegates paid him a courtesy visit on the 12th October, 2023 in Ship House Abuja.

Abubakar while appreciating the Indonesian delegates said that the letter of Intent that has been signed which include exchange of high ranking operational officials, promotion of education, training of Military Personnel, procurement of military equipment, Intelligence sharing as well as promotion of Defence Industries will be worked on.

He expressed optimism that these would open a new era of hope in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In the same vein, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence Dr. Muhammed Bello Matawalle MON, said that Nigeria and Indonesia must be more  committed on bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

Earlier, the Indonesia Ambassador to Nigeria Dr UH Harahap said that:  “The Indonesian Government is set to partner with the Nigerian Armed Forces Personnel on scholarship in joint military training programme in demography as well as to learn from each other on how to curtail insurgence.” He promised that Indonesia will work extensively with Nigeria to advance the defence cooperation.
