Perm. Sec. Defence, Dr. Kana, Decorates Col Diya with New Rank, Cautions Military Personnel against Pride

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, mni has advised newly promoted officers of the Armed Forces against pride in discharging their duties.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, mni decorating Brigadier General Olusola Oyelola Diya on his new rank, supported by his mother, Mrs. Josephine Diya during the decoration ceremony in Ship House, Abuja

Dr. Kana gave the advice when he decorated Colonel OO Diya with the rank of Brigadier General Olusola Oyelola Diya at a ceremony attended by the celebrant’s mother, Mrs. Josephine Diya as well as Senior Officers of the Military and Management staff of the Ministry of Defence.

He said that pride is destructive and negates humility in the eyes of the Almighty adding that new ranks comes with added responsibility meant to serve humanity at a higher level and desperation.

Responding, Brig. Gen. OO Diya expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the promotion and promised to align his new rank with all potentials that may come his way in the discharge of his duties.
