O.M. Mustapha (Mrs.) was born on 4th August, 1964 in London, United Kingdom. She hails from Ilesha East Local Government Area of Osun State. She attended Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, Lagos for her Secondary Education between 1977 to 1981. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Education (History) from the University of Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Mrs Mustapha joined the Adamawa State Civil Service in 1990 where she worked in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs till 2003. She transferred her service to the Federal Civil Service in 2002 and joined the Federal Ministry of Transport up to 2009. Between 2009 and 2011, she served in the Manpower Development Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. Between 2012 and 2014, she worked in the Planning, Research and Statistics Department of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources as an Assistant Director. In 2014, she was posted to the Federal Ministry of youth development where she worked as a Deputy Director (Budget) till 2018.
She was posted to the Ministry of Defence in 2018 where she has been serving as the Director, Joint Services Department to date. Her schedule amongst others includes: Initiating policies on defence and security related issues; Coordinating bi-lateral and multi-lateral Defence cooperation and agreements with friendly nations as well as international organizations; Facilitating and domesticating International Treaties and Conventions related to Defence and Security; Serving as the lead Secretariat to the Governing Board/Council of the Tri-services Institutions.
During her career as a Civil Servant, Mrs Mustapha has been privileged to attend a number of capacity building courses which amongst others include: Local Government Financial Management (1990); Ports Management (2004); National Oil Spill Contingency Plan (2007); International Seminar on Container Management (2007); and Advanced Leadership and Management in the Oil and Gas Sector for Senior Managers (2013).
Mrs Mustapha by God’s grace has travelled to over forty countries both officially and unofficially. She loves reading, watching documentaries, working with the youth and travelling. She is happily married and blessed with children.
