Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda is an esteemed public servant and visionary leader, whose career has spanned key governmental sectors with unwavering dedication. As Permanent Secretary, he has left a remarkable legacy across critical ministries, including Petroleum Resources, Foreign Affairs, Political and Economic Affairs, Youth and Sports, and Women Affairs and Social Development. He was OPEC Governor, for Nigeria until December 2025.

Appointed as “Ambassador In-Situ” by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Aduda’s contributions are emblematic of his commitment to both national and international progress. His tenure as Chairman of the National Authority on Chemical & Biological Weapons Convention (NAC&BWC) notably positioned Nigeria at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, where he championed peace and security on the global stage.

Ambassador Aduda’s career is further distinguished by leadership roles that advanced critical public service initiatives. As Director of Civil Service Transformation at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), he spearheaded efforts to modernize Nigeria’s civil service. His prior roles as Director of Economic Research and Policy Management at the Federal Ministry of Finance, and Head of Strategy and Reorientation at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), demonstrate his impact on Nigeria’s economic reform and anti-corruption efforts.

His expertise has been instrumental in high-level committee roles, including as Chair of the Ministerial Technical Committee for the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) implementation, Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the National Sports Industry Policy, and Chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Revitalization of Prison Farms. Ambassador Aduda has also been pivotal in roles at the Integrity Organization, where he contributed to national development as Head of Governance Research and Consulting, and at the independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC), where he served as Commissioner (Executive Member).

His membership on governing boards and councils includes the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Company (NLNG), and Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC). Through these roles, Ambassador Aduda has consistently advanced Nigeria’s growth and governance.

Ambassador Aduda’s academic achievements are extensive, holding a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Jos, a Master’s from the University of Ibadan, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong. He is also a Harvard Kennedy School alumnus, having completed the prestigious “Implementing Public Policy” program. His commitment to knowledge is further demonstrated in his publications, solidifying his reputation as a thought leader.

Recognized internationally, Ambassador Aduda was honored with the African Achievers Award for Integrity in Public Service in 2023 and named among the 100 Most Reputable Africans in 2024 by the Global Reputation Forum. His career embodies dedication, integrity, and an unyielding commitment to Nigeria and the global community.

In addition to his extensive professional accomplishments, Amb. Aduda is also an author with several publications to his credit.
