Mr. Benson Usiholo Odaman hails from Agwa-Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State. He attended Assemblies of God Mission Primary School, Eko-Ewu and Anglican Grammar School, Ekpoma both in Edo State. He holds BA (Theatre Arts) from the University of Benin, Benin City (1985) and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) of the University of Abuja, FCT (2000). Though he had a stint with Lagos State Government after his NYSC, of which he resigned, he began his Career with the Federal Civil Service in 1991 on GL 09.
Since then, Mr. Odaman as a thoroughbred Civil Servant, has traversed the Public Service and worked without blemish in various Ministries/Agencies including Federal Ministries of Finance, Health, Industry, Women Affairs, Police Affairs, Interior, National Planning Commission, NAPEP, Budget Office of the Federation, SGF, to name a few. In all cases, he had always distinguished himself as a consummate Administrative Officer.
He has attended several Courses in Leadership, Administration, Policy, Programmes and Projects, both within and outside the Country. Also, he has been a resource person in training programmes relating to Administration and Project Management.
He was promoted to the rank of a substantive Director (Administration), GL 17 with effect from January 1st, 2014.
Currently, Mr. Odaman is the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry of Defence.
He is happily married with children and enjoys soccer.
