Former Governor of Zamfara State and Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), Dr. Matawalle supports the Honourable Minister on strategic, security-sector and welfare portfolios, with particular focus on community-level peace-building, banditry response and counter-violent-extremism programmes.
His extensive experience as a state Chief Executive in one of Nigeria's most security-challenged regions equips the Ministry with on-the-ground perspective and political reach into the North-West and frontier communities.
