Bernadette Effiong Edet assumed duty as the Director Reform Coordination and Service Improvement in August, 2014 following a general redeployment exercise carried out by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) for officers in the directorate level.
I obtained Bachelors and Masters Degree in Sciences both from the University of Jos, Plateau State in 1983 and 1985 respectively. I later attended and obtained additional Masters Degree in Business Administration (Financial Management) from the National Open University of Nigeria in 2010.
Particulars of my career in the Public Service show that I joined the service in 1987 and have worked in different capacities in many ministries, among them include Federal Ministries of Finance; Labour & Productivity; Health; Science & Technology and currently Ministry of Defence.
I have been privileged to attend courses/seminars/workshop at local & international fora on Policy Issues; Management; Negotiation Skills & Data Analysis; Debt & Financial Management ; Performance Management; United Nations General Assembly; The World Bank ; United Nations Development Programmes and have served in committees and represented my ministry as a Board Member of a Parastatal.
The Reform Coordination and Service Improvement Department is recently established by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation as part of the ongoing reforms in the public service to serve as a focal point for driving all change, reorganization, innovation and improvement efforts within the Ministry in line with the overall framework set by Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPSR and other Central Agencies of Government.
