DIRECTOR, NAVY AFFAIRS - HAJIYA A.S. YUSUF

Hajiya A. S. Yusuf had her Primary Education in Shekara Girls’ School Kano, Secondary School at Government Girls’ College, Kano and all her University Education in A.B.U Zaria, from bachelor degree in Sociology and Masters in Public Administration. She had her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in Benue State.

Hajiya A. S. Yusuf joined the Federal Civil Service in 1983 as Administrative Officer Grade VIII SGL 08, in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.  She worked in several offices, some of which were Assistant Director, Promotion, Federal Civil Service commission.  Pioneer Member, representing Federal Ministry of Finance, in the Board of Fiscal Responsibility Commission. Deputy Director, Training and Staff Welfare, Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.  She became a substantive Director w.e.f. 2014 and was posted to NEPAD as Director, Finance and Administration before her posting in 2016 to Ministry of Defence as Director, Navy Affairs. It is one of the operational departments carved out to handle the affairs of the Nigerian Navy hardware and logistics matters.

She is a tested and trusted technocrat of 35 years standing and has attended several courses which included a study visit to Howard University, Washington to attend Fiscal Responsibilities Seminar.  Attended a course on “Managing people through Change:  Attitude and Behaviour” at RIPA London, Strategic Leadership and Project Management at Albion College London; just to mention a few. Hajiya A. S. Yusuf is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Management and Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants. She is married and blessed with four children and grandchildren.
