Idris Hassan Dikko is from Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. He attended the LEA Primary School, Koton-Karfe from 1964-1972 for his FSLC, from where he was admitted to Government Secondary School Koton-Karfe from 1973-1977 for his WASC. Thereafter, he attended the School of Preliminary Studies Keffi from 1987-1980 and then obtained the Interim Joint matriculation Examination Certificate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1980.
Mallam Dikko then proceeded to Bayero University Kano (BUK) where he obtained his B.Sc (Hons) Sociology and later in 2009, got his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
After his mandatory National Youth Service Corp (1984/1985) as a Teacher at GSSF ufore in the then Gongola state; his first appointment was with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) from 1985-1989. Mallam Dikko subsequently regularised his appointment with the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC). Through the years, he served in various Federal government establishments, some of which are Ministry of Solid Mineral Development, Interior, OHCSF, Transport, Power, Works and Housing and Women Affairs & Social Development. He is currently the Director, Air Force Affairs, Ministry of Defence - a post he assumed since November 2017.
