FG determines to degrade Boko Haram

The Honourable Minister of Defence, Muhammad Mansur Dan-Ali has reassured Nigerians and the Armed Forces of President Buhari's administration determination to degrade the Boko Haram insurgents.
To this end, the President has ensured the timely realize of funds and other logistics to the Armed Forces, he said.
Alh. Mansur Dan-Ali said this at the commissioning ceremony of blocks of Cadet Quarters capable of accommodating 60 Cadets; a new block of furnished Instructors Quarters for 20 Instructor Pilots and 2blocks of furnished Student Pilots Quarters for 40 Student Pilots at the Air Force Base Kaduna.
Others are; a newly constructed and furnished Canteen for both Instructors and Student Pilots; a Cadet Crew Room/Cafeteria and Flight Simulator for Diamond DA-40/DA-42 Aircraft.
The other project is the 50meters extension of the current runway at the Air Force Base to accommodate bigger aircrafts.
The minister said that the conception and completion of these projects, at a very short time within which the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal SB Abubakar assumed office, is a clear testimony of commit-ment to service by both the officers and airmen of the Nigeria Air Force.
This is a clear demonstra-tion of self-reliance, good management of resources, promotion of integrity, honesty and excellent service delivery, he said.
Earlier in his speech, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar congrat-ulated the Honourable Minister on his well-deserved appointment as the Minister of Defence.
Air Marshal Abubakar stated that both officers and airmen of the Air Force are facing serious challenges including lack of housing and good water supply.
This explains why the current leadership of the Air Force deemed it necessary to undertake some of the just commissioned projects.
The Air Chief pointed out that the management of the Air Force still has numerous projects, which are ongoing adding that the projects are carried out through direct labour by officers and men of Air Force corps of engineers.
In his goodwill remarks, the Chairman Senate Committee on the Air Force, Senator Duro Samuel Faseyi extolled the virtues of the Nigerian Air Force, adding that the Air Force is focused, dedicated, diligent and efficient as exemplified in the execution of the just commissioned projects.
The occasion was wit-nessed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Amb. Danjuma Sheni; the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen AG Olonishakin; Service Chiefs, Directors from the Ministry of Defence, Representatives of the Inspector General of Police, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corp and other senior military personnel.
