Ministry Of Defence Trains On Fgn Iapp
Federal Government in its bid to improve governance in the country, has developed an Internet base Application (known as information APP) that will be used in transmitting programs and policies of government directly by the Ministry, Departments and Agencies, to the reading public. The use of this application will close the communication gap between the government and the citizenry, as the third party involvement, and the conventional platform for information dissemination, such as the Media Houses (Radio, Television and Newspapers) will no doubt be reduced, if possible eliminated.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence Amb .Danjuma Sheni, made this known at a One day training programme organized by the Reform Coordinator and Service Improvement of the Ministry for some of its staff on “UNDERSTANDING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT APPICATION “(IAPP).
Dr. Hassan Abdullahi, Director planning research and statistics who spoke on behalf of the permanent secretary, encouraged participants to key into the objectives of the training and appreciate the essence of the application by downloading it, both as users and administrators and further advised them to pay rapt attention, as they are expected to in turn facilitate the training of other staff of the ministry.
He congratulated the organizers of the workshop and the proponents of the INFORMATIONAPP; and further described the application as user friendly secured, difficult to compromise and cannot be hijacked or bugged by cyber terrorist who might want to hack into government information, through the medium.
The resource person, Engineer Femi Ojoye, in his lecture stated that the FGN Application is easy to access for all users of android and smart phones. He further explained the procedures for downloading the APPS; which he says: simply needs to download from the APP store and install. The installation he said will enable the MDAs to register online in order to access information with a standard password required to log-in and also to disseminate information across if need be.
He further stated that, the FGN APP is not a one way communication tool; but also has a mechanism in which the receiver can respond or contribute to issues at stake.
